## Program Description
At Cornerstone Medical Training Center (CMTC), our Patient Care Technician program is split into 3 phases and allows our students the opportunity to take part in the CNA training program, the Phlebotomy training program, and the EKG Technician training program. Our PCT program is designed to prepare our students to confidently address the responsibilities of a PCT. Students will learn basic concepts of patient care, including but not limited to; areas such as anatomy, nutritional care, electrocardiogram (EKG) and Phlebotomy skill training and disease management. This program is a total of 228 hours  (105.5 theory, 88.5 lab, 34 clinical hours) and is a combination of classroom, lab, and clinical experience. Content delivered in multiple formats including lecture, class discussion, audiovisual material, independent assignments, hands on demonstrations, and student participation. Clinical will be held at an approved long-term care facility, providing  students the opportunity to interact with nursing home residents and staff members in multiple capacities. After successful completion of the program, each student will have met the requirements to be eligible to take the state CNA certification exam with Prometric and PCT certification exam with the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).   

## Enrollment Requirements
- Proof applicant is at least 18 years of age  
- High School Diploma or GED
-  Background check (Existing and pending convictions will be reviewed by the clinical site and admittance into the clinical setting will be determined by the clinical site faculty)
- The payment of the registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition. 
-  Signed Enrollment Agreement. 
-  Enrollment Application and Entrance exam (all students must be able to speak, read, and understand basic English) 
- Current Physical Exam (within last 12 months)
-  Proof of influenza vaccine, if you are scheduled for clinical between October and April   
-  Proof of Immunizations:
• Hepatitis B Must submit one of the following: Positive Hepatitis B Titer, Hepatitis B 
 3 Shot vaccine series and a Positive Hepatitis B titer 
       • Proof of your current Tdap (within the last 10 years)
-  Negative 2 step PPD or negative chest x-ray (within the last 12 months). 
- Negative Urine test (required prior to the start of clinical)
- Clinical sites may require proof of COVID vaccine and booster 

 ## Program Length
- Day program- 7 weeks 

## Delivery of Instruction
- Traditional- all in person
- Hybrid-theory lectures completed online and lab, clinical and some lectures completed in-person
